The story of CARLO 1958 finds its roots in the late 1950s, when the professional and personal experiences of Carlo La Caita and Maria Lucchini led them to the opening of the first shoe and clothing store on Via Colsereno, Tivoli.

Over a short time, the store established itself as the principal fashion store in the city, giving way to a new way of conceiving shopping, open to all: men, woman and children. In fact, in the 1960s important sector megazines called it "the forerunner of Shopping Centers" and "the trendiest shop in Italy".

Subsequently, a second store was opened on Via Pacifici, also in Tivoli. This store was also born with the intention of breaking the pre-existing schemes and offering customers a unique and pleasant shopping experience.
